The idea to establish Engineering Company «2K» appeared in 2000 based upon the key lines of business of “2K Audit – Business consultancy” (Morison International) to assist regular customer s in construction and facility refitting. For that reason general construction and financial and technical supervision principles were worked out as a new line in consultancy. This breakthrough was made by a team of highly skilled and motivated like-minded engineers to be subsequently joined by numerous experts across a range of sectors.

The innovative guidelines, terms and techniques were subsequently fine-tuned and tailored to match international requirements. An important aspect in the development of the company was its recognition by the market and its insiders of the significance of financial and technical supervision which is widely used in construction and engineering now. Many of the largest Russian banks, such as VEB, VTB, Gazprombank, Rosselkhozbank, etc. use financial and technical supervision for crediting.
In 2006 reconstruction and construction of new industrial facilities gained prominence. Our experts chose this type of activity as the main focus, the national economy being in dire need of industrial construction. It is obvious that the country needs new plants and factories. The renovation of production facilities by means of new technologies is absolutely inevitable, and it is in this that the Company sees its mission. We consider engineering not as office work and consultancy, but as actual construction of new facilities, liaison with customer s, general contractors and independent technical supervision.
In 2008 our team comprised of a selection of vastly experienced specialists delivering projects from the initial idea all the way to commissioning of the facility and warranty maintenance.
In 2009 we started to create a sound non-destructive testing laboratory enabling us to do energy auditing. Engineering Company «2K» buys only modern certified top-grade equipment, which allows us to meet the needs of the largest customer s. However, preliminary engineering surveys have also become our core competence. They are especially useful in line with the possibility to conduct international surveys and make final decisions in accordance with international quality standards. In future, several thousands of new factories employing innovative production principles will be built in Russia. And it is in this process that we take an active part. The next stage of the company's development was the foundation of subsidiaries specializing in general contracting, purchase and operation of heavy construction equipment, property management. Since that moment Engineering Company «2K» has developed as a vertically integrated holding company.
In 2010 the company expanded the range of sectors covered, its staffing being proportionally bolstered. So, by 2011 a high-grade engineering company with a sound intellectual resource, human capital and state-of-the-art construction equipment, as well as a vast Knowledge base (KB) had been created.
Having formed one of the largest engineering and construction Knowledge bases by 2011, we provided ourselves with the most valuable online information source consisting of more than 20 000 electronic storage elements including encyclopedias, books, drawings, engineering solutions, individual projects, research results, special periodicals on construction and technologies. As a result, we have a good opportunity to collect practically full up-to-date information on the issue of interest, study the information received in real time and in the shortest term as well as to take the most prepared and informed decisions. This opportunity was recognized by many engineers of both local companies and foreign investors. Thus, having created one of the first Russian engineering companies, we quickly captured a pertinent market share and entered the list of the go-to construction and technical engineering contractors.
By 2012, we had managed to enter the market and formed a package of industrial engineering orders, which allows us to participate in the major local projects, work with advanced technologies expanding our experience and technical capabilities. As we go along, we plan to invite significant domestic investment, increase the company's staffing and cooperate with the world's largest engineering companies. Throughout the world, engineering is developing at a high pace and obtaining priority over individual construction contractors and equipment suppliers. Following the trend we offer our clients a comprehensive responsibility for project delivery as well as advanced construction and refitting methods.
